dbdsp audio ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information is — and isn't — collected when you use our software, visit our website, or purchase our products. In short: our plugins don't track you or collect your usage data, and we keep only the minimal order information needed to sell and support our products.
Our plugins collect no usage data
Our audio plugins contain no telemetry and no analytics, and they do not track or collect your usage data. They read and write only local files on your own computer (such as the presets and, where applicable, models you load and save). A plugin connects to the internet for only two things:
- License validation. To validate your license key — including expansion-pack licenses — with Lemon Squeezy (our reseller) when you activate it, and periodically to re-verify it. So that a license can be tied to the computers you have activated, this also sends a machine identifier derived from your computer’s hardware and your computer’s name — this is what lets you see and manage your active machines, and free one up when you move to a new computer. Nothing else is sent.
- Update check. At most once per day, the plugin fetches a small version file from dbdspaudio.com so it can tell you when a newer version is available. Like any web request, this necessarily discloses your IP address and a generic software identifier to our web server; it contains no account, usage, audio, or other personal data, and we do not use it to identify or profile you.
No usage or personal information is sent for any other purpose. If you're offline, these checks fail silently and the plugin keeps working.
Our website
dbdspaudio.com is an informational site. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect personal information directly through the site. As with most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and reliable operation; this includes requests made by our plugins' update check.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. When you buy, Lemon Squeezy and its payment processors collect the information needed to complete and support your purchase — such as your name, email address, billing address, and payment details — under Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy. We never see or store your full payment-card details.
From each sale, we receive limited order information (for example, your name, email address, and the product purchased) so that we can deliver your product, provide support, issue any license, and keep proper business records.
If you contact us
If you email info@dbdspaudio.com, we use your email address and message solely to respond to you and provide support.
How we use information
We use the limited information we receive only to: fulfill and deliver orders; provide customer support; manage licenses and updates; send occasional product emails (see below); and meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with third parties for their marketing, and we do not use it for advertising by anyone else.
Product emails
From time to time we may email you about our own products — for example a new version of a plug-in you own, an important fix, or a new dbdsp audio release. These are sent to the address you used at purchase, through Lemon Squeezy, and we send them ourselves; your address is never passed to anyone else for their own marketing.
Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately and does not affect your license, your downloads, your updates, or your ability to get support — you will simply stop receiving product news. Messages that are strictly about your purchase, such as your receipt and license key, are not marketing and are sent regardless.
Data retention
We keep order and support records for as long as needed to provide support and to meet legal and tax requirements, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal data. Because Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record, much of your personal data relating to a purchase is held by them; you can exercise those rights with Lemon Squeezy and/or contact us at info@dbdspaudio.com and we will help.
Children
Our products and site are intended for general audiences and are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
